My goals from this past week were to:
I got off to a strong start this week. I have a few preps on Monday and I find that I can get my teaching planned on Sundays so that I can give myself some time for coursework on Mondays. I find that I can't do both on the same day because it seems too overwhelming for me. My current work schedule is to complete course work on Saturdays, plan my week on Sundays, and then try to complete some posts and refine my weekly plan as the week goes on. 1. My group met on Monday night and it was such a great conversation. I'm finding that this course is a bit too secluded and that could be because everyone is at different stages of the course at different points. It's not leading to all that much discussion- just more posting, reading each others posts, commenting and moving on. We started chatting at 8pm and talked for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. We began the conversation by discussing the course and asking/answering questions that we had. One question that came up was the mid-course consultation. Up until this point, I've thought that this was optional. But both my group members completed the assignment which made me begin to worry that maybe just the actual consultation was optional and the assignment itself isn't. So, I hummed and hawed all week and finally emailed the professor for confirmation. If that's the case, then I'm going to need to re-adjust my plan! We had a great conversation and I'll post that on my blog related to my goal so please check that out. 2. I completed this on Monday and actually began to write another post about how students are reflecting on their blogs as well. I'm finding that I begin writing the posts in a Google Doc and then post once I get a chance to get photos and time to edit my post. I like to complete these posts at school because all the documents and evidence is there and I feel more focused while I'm at school. Another neat thing that is neat is that I was observed this week. I made a whole lesson plan about goal setting and taking the time to reflect on our goals. My principal loved it! She said that it was so great to see the students thinking about their own thinking. This is just what I want them doing so yay me! 3. I haven't yet completed the readings from module 4. After reading the course calendar that was sent out, I technically don't need to start module 4 until Monday so I'm going to add this goal to my plan for next week.

Good morning! After reviewing some other blogs this weekend, I've decided to track my own learning progress alongside with the progress of my students. I meant to begin this yesterday but the day got away from me. Here is my plan for this week:
1. Meet tonight on Google Hangouts with my triad for module four. I need to still look at what problem I am going to bring to the meeting. 2. Create a blog post about goal setting in my classroom as we completed this last week. 3. Complete the readings from module #4 and begin to think about the monitoring process I will use. |
